Come along to one of the community drop-in sessions and have a chat with HCC! \nDates: \n\nNaenae Neighbourhood Hub – Saturday 6 July 11am-12p\nWar Memorial Library – Wednesday 17 July 7pm-8pm\nEastbourne Neighbourhood Hub – Saturday 20 July 1pm–2pm\nPetone Neighbourhood Hub – Saturday 20 July 3pm-4pm\nWainuiomata Neighbourhood Hub – Sunday 28 July 2pm-3pm\n\nProposed changes to how our communities are represented on Council have just been released for public consultation and we’re keen to hear from you by 1 August.\nAn independent panel undertook community engagement in late 2023 and early 2024 to consider representation in Lower Hutt and have now recommended: \nThat there be no community boards in Lower Hutt and the three existing community boards in Petone\, Eastbourne and Wainuiomata be disestablished. \nThat Hutt City Council be made up of a mayor and 13 councillors:• 5 councillors elected at-large from across the city (one fewer than currently).• 1 councillor elected from Mana Kairangi ki Tai Māori Ward\, covering the whole city (new position as voted by Council in 2023).• 7 councillors elected from 5 general wards (one more councillor and one fewer wards than currently). \n\nThe panel’s report\, FAQs and how to have your say are at hutt.city/repreview or visit any Council hub.
