DESCRIPTION:The Ngauranga to Petone (Ngā Ūranga ki Pito-One) section of Te Ara Tupua opens to the public on Saturday 16 May!\n\n\nWellington and the Hutt Valley will soon be linked by a safe and stunning new coastal shared path that also improves resilience by better protecting the rail line from storm and sea surges.\n\n\nCreated in partnership with iwi and our communities\, Te Ara Tupua is a pathway incorporating history\, environment benefits\, and future-focused design.\n\n\nWe’re confident this path will contribute to regional walks and rides\, support local and national tourism and recreational opportunities\, while being enjoyed by many for many years to come.\n\n\nGrab your shoes\, pump up those tyres and join us on 16 May.\n\nJoin us at Williams Park in Days Bay:FreeRide will make sure your bike is in tip top shape WildFinder is offering 10min eBike test rides\, free bike tune-ups and advice\, vouchers and lollies. Decorate a drink bottle and fill it up to stay hydrated while you explore the path Big Dig for kids on the beach from 12:30pm – wonder what you’ll find  ShareHeat is doing a special pop-up\, watch their social pages to see how you can get a spot! Collect Tupua Horo Nuku stamps along the path and be in to winSnap a photo at one of our special photo frames along the path made by local artists! \n\nDING-DING! We’ll be at Williams Park giving away bells and getting feedback. We will try to keep the Eastbourne Library stocked with bells for your ride as well. These have been so popular we ordered more.
