DESCRIPTION:Contractors will be returning to the dunes in front of CL Bishop Park in July 2025 for\nanother round of targeted weed control to ensure the continued success of the native\nplants that support dune restoration and the Bird Protection Area.\nWeather permitting\, the work is scheduled to commence from Monday 28 July 2025.\nFor further details\, please refer to the following page.\nAbout the CL Bishop Bird Protection Area\nAs part of the consent conditions for the Tupua Horo Nuku project\, Bird Protection areas\nmust be established at Whiorau Reserve\, CL Bishop Park\, and HW Shortt Park.\nThese areas serve as nesting habitats for kororā (little penguins)\, protecting the nesting\nsites of tōrea pango (variable oystercatchers) and other indigenous seabird species\npotentially affected during and after construction activities.\nMore information can be found on the Hutt City Council website: hutt.city/tupuahoronuku\nor please email: tupuahoronuku@huttcity.govt.nz
