DESCRIPTION:COMMUNITY CLIMATE ACTION FUND (formerly the Community Engagement Fund)\nCriteria\nThe fund aims to contribute to the city’s carbon reduction goals by funding:\ni. Community-led carbon reduction initiatives\, with a focus on initiatives already identified in the Lower Hutt Climate Pathway\nii. Community engagement initiatives that can demonstrate a contribution to carbon reduction in the way they are delivered (eg waste minimisation). \nTo be eligible for funding:\n• Initiatives/activities must take place within Lower Hutt.\n• Physical assets must not be stored on Council reserve land or road reserve.\n• Any asset purchased over the value of $1\,000 must be added to the organisation’s asset register.\n• Organisations/groups requesting funding must meet specified criteria\, including legal entity status for applications above $10k and the project must align with Council’s Climate Action Pathway.\nThis is a one-off grant\, and any future maintenance of physical assets purchased are the responsibility of the applicant organisations. \nEastbourne Community Board has $2\,171 for further allocation in this round as of May 2025. \nmore information (on this website) \nApplication form\, more information\, and assistance in applying (is available) (Hutt City website)

SUMMARY:Community Engagement Fund
DESCRIPTION:This fund supports local activities and events that directly benefit the communities concerned. Funding details on Hutt City website. \nCommunity boards and funding panels receive a set amount of funding to give out to applicants each financial year. Applications must support the Local Community Plan (if there is one) and also core Council business identified in our Long Term Plan. \nEligibility criteria \nYou must: \n\nhave legal status as charitable trusts or incorporated societies that have the right to receive or administer charitable funding\nbe based in Hutt City\nbe planning an event/activity in Hutt City.\n\nAvailable funding for Eastbourne $2\,366 \n\nWhat we fund \n\nPurchase of office equipment\nFood and catering costs\nCommunity festivals\nYouth group events and projects run by the elderly or citizens associations\nArt projects that are not part of the core curriculum\nAdvertising\, promotion costs\n\nWhat we don’t fund \nWe don’t fund activities that: \n\npromote an organisation’s religious\, ethical\, commercial or political views\ninvolve buying land or buildings or carrying out maintenance on buildings\nduplicate services that are already covered by Council or by government agencies eg\, health or education providers\nhave already begun or have already finished\ninvolve the redistribution of funds to others at the applicant’s discretion\ninvolve fundraising or legal costs\ninvolve capital investments or trust funds\ngo towards prize money\nare operational costs eg\, salaries\, wages\, rent\, power.\n\nFunding rules \nSuccessful applicants must: \n\nuse funds only for the approved purpose and in line with any terms and conditions we’ve set\nuse funds by June 30 of the following year\nlet Council’s funding officer know immediately if any difficulty or potential difficulty arises that may compromise the service or project\nallow us to audit the use of the funds if we decide to\nrecognise our support in all publicity material\, annual reports and similar publications\ncomplete an online Accountability Report no later than six weeks after completing the project. This should outline how the funds were used and how the community benefited\nlay a complaint with Police if any funds are stolen or misappropriated\, and then notify us\npresent back to the Community Board/Funding Panel to show how the project/event met its objectives.\n\n  \n> More information including past recipients \n> How to apply
