I get collected weekly. \n  \nYour green (garden) waste bin / ipupara tupu \nYour green bin is for garden waste only. What can you put in this bin? \nYES \n\nGrass clippings\nPlant cuttings\nNO\nRubbish\nConcrete or stone\nNappies\nFood waste\n\nTip: If you don’t have a green waste bin\, or you have large quantities of green waste\, you can take it to the Silverstream transfer station. If you have compost waste\, here are some options. \n  \nYour recycling bin with the yellow lid / ipu hangarua \nThis is your wheelie bin with the yellow lid\, and it’s just for rubbish. \nI get collected on yellow weeks. When incorrect items end up in the wrong bin\, they contaminate the recycling / ipu hangarua\, which can mean the whole truckload ends up going to landfill. Learn why the area is significant to iwi and learn about the unique history of Pencarrow Lighthouse from Heritage New Zealand. \nThere’s two walks to choose from depending on your level of fitness; one up to look inside the lighthouse or a flatter lakeside stroll by the Kohangapiripiri Lake. Make sure you bring your lunch\, snacks and water\, suitable walking shoes\, sun protection\, layers and a light raincoat. Please note\, this is an exposed site and there is no shelter. \nThere are limited spaces on two buses that will transport you to and from the lake entrance – 14 km return. You can also come by bike and join us at the lake or lighthouse.
