It’s as much work (or as little) as you want to make it\, and our primary responsibility is to represent the community to council. We pass on information to the community\, get feedback\, and relay that back to HCC as appropriate. We need 5 candidates to complete the board\, 6 or more to have an election. Ideally we want broad representation across the whole community – Eastbourne and the Bays. \nYou don’t have to do any electioneering if you don’t want to. When incorrect items end up in the wrong bin\, they contaminate the recycling / ipu hangarua\, which can mean the whole truckload ends up going to landfill. Keep an eye out on noticeboards and social media for opportunities to save useable items from going to landfill.
