DESCRIPTION:Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars\, that rises in midwinter and for many Māori\, heralds the start of the new year. \nThe return of the cluster is commemorated by Te Rā Aro ki Matariki 2024\, which happens on Friday\, June 28\, this year. Early in the morning\, just before dawn\, is the optimum time to view the Matariki cluster. \nMatariki 2024 – Mānawatia a Matariki \nCommunity Library / Hub (note these events are all on the 27 June\, 28th is a holiday)\nMuritai School Kapa Haka Performance. Join us for a special performance by Muritai School Kapa Haka. 27th of June at 10am \nMatariki Heri Kai. Join us in celebrating Matariki Heri Kai with a potluck-style morning tea kicking off at 11:30 on Thursday the 27th of June. Bring a plate of something that you’d like to share with the community or just come by for some kai and conversation \nMatariki storytime after dark.
