The donated prizes have all been awarded, congratulations to those lucky recipients, but also thank you to you all for taking an interest in our Community Resilience. Whether or not you attended, we are keen to hear your ideas for the future of the bays in becoming more resilient, please complete the survey or just reply to this email if you prefer.
My main take-away from the event was the need to engage with every local group, formal or informal, no matter what purpose they serve. These groups may be the main or only contact point for some within our community, especially the more vulnerable. In the event of a disruption or emergency the group can check on it's members, pass on any requests or concerns, and generally act as a channel to ensure no-one is left behind. We can use these groups to pass on information, and in return, by participating in events such as the Resilience Expo, these groups can make themselves known to the community. There would be no obligation to act in any way, but being informed is the first necessary step in being resilient.
So, please complete the survey or reply with your ideas. I'm keen to know how you found out about the event, what you liked (or not), what you would like to see in future, what your concerns are and where you think we should go from here.
You can refresh your memory about the Expo event, read a report on organising the Expo (download), and also an analysis of the event and it's possible future (download).
You can also refresh yourself on the details of the Expo, read a report on the organisation of the Expo, and also an analysis of the Expo and things learned.
