Tēnā koutou
Radio test this Saturday 9:30am 22 February 2025 - Note: I will possibly not be on air as I'm currently away and unsure of my return date - so please feel free to talk amongst yourselves if I don't make an appearance.
I'm on a bit of a road trip via Gisborne where I attended a symposium "Sport in a Changing Climate" which combines my interests in sports (wind sports, I'm a former president of Windsurfing NZ) and community resilience. It was a valuable experience, centred around the impacts of cyclone Gabrielle, and I'll possibly comment more on it next time.
Also - WREMO are running a hub practice in Days Bay in late March (don't have the date yet) but it could be an opportunity to catch up if anyone is keen. I'll send an update when I have more info.
I'm talking to Red Cross to see if we can get some action on setting up a collaboration in Eastbourne between Red Cross and ECB, but also Wellington Water. I will let you know how this progresses.
Finally, I've been sent a referral to this (below) which I'll probably pursue, I've no idea if I'm an appropriate candidate but it certainly sounds useful. Perhaps some of you may be interested?. Wellington Local Advisory Committee Members
