Draft Annual Plan 2023-24
Hutt City are planning for the year ahead, and want to hear what you think!

Biodiversity - what matters to you?
Hutt City Council is developing an Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy and wants to hear what’s important to you. When the draft strategy is released, there will be further opportunity to have your say.
 
Keeping nature healthy, greening our cities, supporting local communities and maintaining the enormous diversity of life on our planet is essential for our future. The strategy will be the environmental blueprint for our city when finalised. Together, we can protect and restore our natural taonga for future generations.  

The information that you provideis confidential and not be able to be traced to any individual or household: The survey takes around 5-10 minutes to complete and closes 5pm Sunday 23 April.

 

Tupua Horo Nuku - Eastern Bays Shared Path

Significant progress has been made on Tupua Horo Nuku, with the majority of the foundations poured throughout Mā-koromiko.
Next week the construction team will be returning to the northern part of Mā-koromiko where the pathway connects with Days Bay to undertake the required excavation in this section.
There will be one-lane Stop / Go traffic control in place during work hours (7am – 5pm) and the speed limit through the work area will be 30km/h. This will be constantly monitored and manually controlled to ensure that traffic does not build up on either side during peak times. Outside of these times the road returns to normal. There will be a protected section for pedestrians to pass around the site in areas where they cannot be diverted onto the opposite footpath. Please factor this into your travel arrangements.
In order to complete this work as safely and efficiently as possible the construction team will be occupying 8 car parks close to the work site during weekdays, as illustrated on the map. This is the minimum space required to safely operate the needed machinery. These parks will be vacated by the construction team at the end of each week and will be available to the public on the weekends and public holidays over Easter.
For safety reasons the beach and rocks around the construction site will be closed for the duration of the works.
The work in this area is expected to take approximately 1 month to complete.
We appreciate your ongoing understanding around the traffic control and beach access in the area while construction is taking place.
