This will be my priority for the next few weeks - I'm hoping to get maximum community engagement by making this as "broad brush" as possible - from simple personal/ family/ friends safety through to community emergency management and resilience and also longer term resilience through the consequences of climate change.

The radio network will be represented, WREMO may have a radio operational at the event for people to try, will keep you informed as you may like to be involved.

You can also help. Plan to attend the event, and encourage you friends, neighbours and community to attend. Anyone who registers either before (online) or at the event will go in the draw for resilience related prizes. If you have a community civil defence or residents association get them involved. If you know any organisations or businesses who may be relevant to the event let them know (or tell us), we'd ,love to get them involved. Send them the link above.

Any questions at all, contact me.

FYI - I also manage the website http://eastbourne.nz/ and the electronic notice board in the library - if you have information you'd like to see on either of these please let me know. I have got pages for each bay which have no content - the obvious addition would be information about the bay's emergency resources, plan and contacts etc. so please send anything through.

Note: There are a few Eastbourne email newsletters you can subscribe to here, including one for civil defence notifications.

Ngā mihi

Bruce
