Regional and City Long Term Plan consultation and submissions are active and closing soon.
Eastbourne Community Board News Update

There are two consultations underway at present which affect us all. Please take the time to provide your input.

Greater Wellington Regional Council LTP submissions close on Monday at 5pm. Specifically they are looking for feedback on (but not limited to):

  1. increasing Greater Wellington's control of strategic public transport
  2. buying shares to become 100% shareholder of CentrePort

Hutt City are also consulting on our Long Term Plan, submissions close on 3 May. Four major issues are specifically (but not exclusively) covered:

  1. Water Services: For us to take the next steps in improving our water services, we're asking for your help to indicate to us the level of investment you're willing to fund through rates.
  2. Food and Green Organics. We’re asking you to tell us your thoughts on a food organics and green organics waste collection service moving forward.
  3. Rates relief for low-income households. We’re proposing a new Rates Remission Policy which would extend the amount of financial help to eligible low-income ratepayers.
  4. The way ahead for Petone. The Petone Library building, Petone Recreation Ground grandstand and Petone Wharf are in need of significant investment. We need your help to decide the level of investment we should prioritise.

We are developing a 10-year plan for the Wellington Region

Greater Wellington oversees a wide range of activities across the Wellington Region that protect the environment, enable an efficient, accessible, low-carbon public transport network, and supports sustainable economic development.

Right now, we are developing our Long Term Plan that outlines what we are going to deliver from 2024 to 2034. This Plan looks forward for 10 years, and is reviewed every three years.
