Unfortunately the official public event tomorrow (Sunday) has been cancelled - ECB still have 100 bike-bells to give away, so weather permitting some of us may be out and about to ring you up on Sunday.

Weather update

We are experiencing sudden downfalls impacting our city. There is some flooding in Taitā and Stokes Valley. WWL has been notified.

Metservice is forecasting that the rain will ease late morning and may intensify again for a period late afternoon before clearing in the evening.

The EOC is activated (light). Our contractors and operational staff are out doing what they need to do.

As always please our communication channels and the following provide useful information: 

• Go to facebook.com/huttcitycouncil to see updates on road closures, flooding, and other warnings.   
• For weather warnings, go to metservice.com/warnings  
• Visit Metlink and Wellington Airport to see public transport services and flights that are impacted.  
• Get information and tips at Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO).  
• Check NZTA Waka Kotahi for State Highway updates around the region . 
• Visit Wellington Electricity for information about power outages.

Tupua Horo Nuku Community Event cancelled

The community day that was rescheduled to tomorrow has now been cancelled due to the need to focus on any clean-up as we respond to weather impacts. We are letting everyone involved know about this.
