Hutt City Council Roading update: 6PM Friday 2 May
Updated: 6.06pm 2 May 25
Across Lower Hutt our crews have been out cleaning up where safe to do so, but please be aware that there may still be debris and surface flooding on some open roads. Please drive with extra caution.
Roading update
- Marine Drive, Wainuiomata Hill Road, and Waddington Drive are all currently reopened.
- Port Road and Ferry Road remain down to one lane with traffic management in place to enable necessary travel through.
While conditions have eased, heavy rain and hazardous conditions continue. Sodden ground conditions mean the risk of slips and tree fallings are still heightened. We’re also still working through the impacts and consequences of the last 24 hours.
We'll continue to monitor the situation and update our social media channel and this page if there are any changes.
Other updates
- There will be delays collecting rubbish and recycling bins in some areas due to surface flooding. Avoid putting bins out for collection on Friday if they're not full or in an exposed area likely to experience strong gusts.
