There's only a few hours to go - if you are thinking about standing for Community Board please act now.
We can vouch for the fact that the community board gets a lot of support from the community at large - demonstrated by the number of submissions in favour of retaining the board when the HCC voted to disestablish us.
Current board members Murray Gibbons, Emily Keddell and Bruce Spedding are standing again, Belinda Moss and Frank Vickers are not. We need 5 nominations to complete a board, 6 or more to trigger an election.
We encourage you to talk to a board member about the role, either one of the board members who are standing again, or those who are standing down. If you have concerns about the effectiveness of the board or what it's like to be on the board, talk to us.
- Nominations can be submitted electronically or physically.
- You need to complete the form (download) including signatures or 2 nominators.
- Provide proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate)
- Pay $200 deposit (refundable if you get at least 25% of the votes of the least successful candidate.
- Provide a photo and max 150 word profile statement (these are optional)
