Memorial Gates, Muritai School 166 Muritai Road, Eastbourne, Lower Hutt 5013, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New ZealandAnzac Day is usually commemorated by the Eastbourne Community at the war memorial adjacent to Muritai School, followed by refreshments at the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club. Assembly at Ballinger Gardens, Makaro Street from 9.30am – March to the Memorial Gates, Muritai School. ANZAC Service commences at 10am. Anzac Day is observed on 25 April. It commemorates New Zealanders killed in war and honours returned and serving servicemen and women. National Emergency Mobile Alert test
National Emergency Mobile Alert test - save the date The nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert (EMA) system is taking place in the evening of Sunday 25 May between 6-7pm. This is a routine test to make sure the system is working well, and we anticipate that over 5.5 million phones will receive this message. Anybody who may be distressed by the alert, or those have a hidden second phone for their safety, should put their phones in flight mode or turn them off between the hours of 6-7pm on Sunday 25 May to avoid the sound of the alert.
