  • Final day to volunteer for Summer Pool supervision

Eastbourne Pool Marine Parade, Eastborne, Lower Hutt, New Zealand

We urgently need more volunteers to train as lifeguards for our Summer Pool – and the final day to sign up is Monday, 19 January. So far, three amazing community members have stepped up and completed their training. We are incredibly grateful – but it’s not enough. Without additional volunteers, Eastbourne Pool will be forced to close in mid-February. Keeping the pool open for the full season is critical. It allows our school and swim club to complete their swimming programmes, ensuring our children can build confidence and safety in the water – something that matters to all of us as a coastal community. https://eastbourne.nz/2026/01/14/last-chance-to-keep-our-pool-open-for-the-full-season/

Hey everyone, thought I’d make a quick introduction. I’m Alex and I’ll be Team Leader at Eastbourne Pool this season! Registrations for Icebergs are now open – please make sure to sign up so we can get enough numbers for it to run! There will be flyers at Eastbourne Library and at the pools, or you can download the registration form below. Completed forms can be dropped off at Te Ngaengae or Huia Pool; or you can email them to (mailto:tengaengaepool@huttcity.govt.nz). These need to be handed in by the 7th November at the absolute latest! The pool is opening on Saturday 15th November - save
