    Meet the candidates for the upcoming local body elections. This election you will be voting for the mayor, 5 city-wide candidates, and 3 regional council candidates. Our Harbour Ward councillor Tui Lewis has already been decided (uncontested), and our Community Board is also decided as we only had the required 5 candidates nominated, meaning no contest is required. This election will also feature 2 referendums. To retain the new Maori Ward (binding  - this will affect the next election in 2028, not this one). If Hutt City Council should investigate the options for amalgamation (non-binding) There will be more information on both these issues leading

    The EMRSA AGM - The 2025 AGM will be held on Sunday the 30th of March 2025 at 1pm in the Clubrooms Tuatoru Street, Eastbourne. The final acceptance date for the 'Nominations for the Executive Committee' – and for acceptance of ‘Motions for Consideration’ - is the 8th of March 2025. A reminder that to participate in the AGM and the running of your RSA – and to use the ESSC facilities, you must be a current financial member.

    Eastbourne Lions Club is organising a “Meet the Candidates” Meeting on Wednesday 7 September, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, at the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club (ESSC) function room. The candidates will represent elections for HCC Mayor, Harbour Ward, Council at Large, Eastbourne Community Board and possibly WRC Hutt if we have space.

Meeting to inform Eastern Bays residents on climate change issues, promote discussion and identify future community responses. More details will be added as they become available.     The ESSC AGM will be held on Sunday 31 July 2022 at 3.30pm at the Club rooms.  A quorum requires three members from each Club to be present. The Business of the meeting is: to receive the Annual Report, Balance Sheet & Statement of Accounts for the preceding year, to confirm members to the Board and to appoint the Auditor for the following year, to decide any resolution which is submitted to the meeting and of which the meeting has prior notice, to attend to General Business. Financial Members of the Affiliated ESSC Clubs are able to attend.

    Anzac Day 2022 The Eastbourne Memorial RSA reluctantly noted in last month’s Eastbourne Herald that it has had to cancel this year’s Street March and Citizens Commemorative Service. Earlier in March the RNZRSA informed all RSAs that no NZDF resources would be available for Anzac Day 2022. Also the Hutt City Council advised it was likely that there would not be a public service on Anzac Day, instead it would be replaced by a private service in the St James Church for approximately 75 guests and that this service would be ‘live streamed’ to the public, - and they would advise that there would be
