LAST CHANCE TO KEEP OUR POOL OPEN FOR THE FULL SEASON

Eastbourne summer pool
Hi Eastbourne 👋
We urgently need more volunteers to train as lifeguards for our Summer Pool – and the final day to sign up is Monday, 19 January.
So far, three amazing community members have stepped up and completed their training. We are incredibly grateful – but it’s not enough. Without additional volunteers, Eastbourne Pool will be forced to close in mid-February.
Keeping the pool open for the full season is critical. It allows our school and swim club to complete their swimming programmes, ensuring our children can build confidence and safety in the water – something that matters to all of us as a coastal community.
If you’ve ever thought about helping, now is the moment. A small commitment from a few more people makes the difference between a full season – or an early closure.
Please consider volunteering, or share this with someone who might be able to help. Let’s keep our pool open for our kids and our community.
Contact Alex Irvine at the pool – she will be thrilled to hear from you. Share with your friends and family who may not be on Facebook.
Want to build new skills this summer? Eastbourne Summer Pool is looking for volunteer lifeguards to join the team!
Volunteering is a great way to gain experience, meet new people, and give back to your community. Just ask Mari – one of our awesome volunteers 🙌
We’re looking for volunteers to support the team during the final month of the summer season, starting 9 February.
Here’s what you need to know:
🏊 You’ll complete a lifeguard course and a first aid course (around 3 days total). Both paid for, so you’ll get the qualifications for free.
🏊 Volunteers will help out at least one shift a week (around 4–6 hours).
🏊 You’ll also get free staff swims as an added bonus!
🏊 We’re aiming to run the training before the end of January.
Our wonderful volunteers play a big part in keeping the pool open for everyone. A few more helping hands will help us keep things running right through to the end of the season.
If you’re interested or want to learn more, send an email to Alex.Irvine@huttcity.govt.nz before Monday 19 January – We’d love to hear from you!
Please note, volunteers must be 16 years or older.
