For the benefit of residents of the Eastbourne Community and in the exercise of the Trust Board’s discretionary powers charitable purposes shall include public recreation, enjoyment, health, education, instruction, and culture. Grant applications are invited through print and social media from Eastbourne-Bays Not for Profit entities. Grants are given where there is an enduring benefit to the entity. Eastbourne-Bays Community Trust – Applications for Freemasons Scholarship (close 15 June)

The Eastbourne Freemasons’ Scholarship has been established to encourage tertiary or post graduate study in the successful applicant’s chosen area of expertise. Eligibility Applicants for the scholarship must have lived in the Eastbourne-Bays area for a minimum of five years (not necessarily currently) and achieved with distinction in their chosen discipline during a minimum of three years study at a tertiary level. Scholarship details The value of the annual scholarship is $5,500 and will be paid upon confirmation that the successful applicant is able to comply with the terms of the scholarship. Community Climate Action Fund (closes July 13)

COMMUNITY CLIMATE ACTION FUND (formerly the Community Engagement Fund) Criteria The fund aims to contribute to the city’s carbon reduction goals by funding: i. Community-led carbon reduction initiatives, with a focus on initiatives already identified in the Lower Hutt Climate Pathway ii. Community engagement initiatives that can demonstrate a contribution to carbon reduction in the way they are delivered (eg waste minimisation). To be eligible for funding: • Initiatives/activities must take place within Lower Hutt. • Physical assets must not be stored on Council reserve land or road reserve. • Any asset purchased over the value of $1,000 must be added to the organisation’s asset register.

Butterfly Creek Theatre Troupe AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Troupe will be held on 2 July at 7:30pm in the Muritai School Green Room (entrance at the North end of the hall). A new constitution (to align with new rules for Incorporated Society) will be presented and voted upon. A copy of the Draft constitution can be downloaded HERE. We will also appoint officers for the Troupe. It should be a fairly short meeting and then we will have a chance for members to mingle – B.Y.O. drink and nibble.
