    The Muritai 'Make-It" Market is coming up! It will be held in the afternoon on Friday 21st November. (Postponement day is Thursday 27th November) Start collecting up $1 and $2 coins for your children. It is helpful for them to have a wallet and a bag to store all their purchases on this day.     It’s that time of year again, so mark your calendar! Our next Eastbourne beach clean-up is scheduled for Sunday, November 23rd. We’ll be set up at the usual place - the picnic table just before Burdan’s Gate - from 9:00 until noon. All welcome, for any length of time. Even half an hour makes a big difference. Bags and gloves provided.

    In support of St Alban's Church and Hall strengthening Step into a world of six acclaimed private gardens each a living canvas of colour, design and inspiration from lush natives to sculpted landscapes. Each garden tells a story and provides a visual image of wonderful creations. One garden, allegedly with the best vista, has not been opened to the public before. One garden has previously featured in the House and Garden magazine.   • Eastbourne Wharf to Wharf Swim 2026

    The Eastbourne Wharf-to-Wharf swim will be next held on Sunday 1st March 2026. The Wharf-to-Wharf swim has become an Eastbourne institution that has been running for over 100 years. This fun, non-competitive friendly swim event is run by the Muritai Yacht Club and volunteers for the benefit of the Eastbourne community.  The course begins on Days Bay beach and finishes next to the Rona Bay wharf in Eastbourne. Every person is a winner and at a distance of approximately 1.25km it is an event that all age groups can enjoy together.   • ANZAC Day

    Anzac Day is usually commemorated by the Eastbourne Community at the war memorial adjacent to Muritai School, followed by refreshments at the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club. Assembly at Ballinger Gardens, Makaro Street from 9.30am – March to the Memorial Gates, Muritai School. ANZAC Service commences at 10am. Anzac Day is observed on 25 April. It commemorates New Zealanders killed in war and honours returned and serving servicemen and women.
