    Targeted Weed Control: CL Bishop Park Bird Protection Area

    Contractors will be returning to the dunes in front of CL Bishop Park in July 2025 for another round of targeted weed control to ensure the continued success of the native plants that support dune restoration and the Bird Protection Area. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to commence from Monday 28 July 2025. For further details, please refer to the following page. About the CL Bishop Bird Protection Area As part of the consent conditions for the Tupua Horo Nuku project, Bird Protection areas must be established at Whiorau Reserve, CL Bishop Park, and HW Shortt Park.     Please consider standing for the board, we fought to keep it, now let's use it to support our community. It's as much work (or as little) as you want to make it, and our primary responsibility is to represent the community to council. We pass on information to the community, get feedback, and relay that back to HCC as appropriate. We need 5 candidates to complete the board, 6 or more to have an election.   • Eastbourne Bowling Club Relocation Consultation 18 Aug – 8 Sept

    A public meeting to discuss this specific proposal will be announced soon. Subscribe to our email newsletter to be updated. An extra week has also been added to the submission period. The ECB welcomes the Council's consultation on the Eastbourne Bowling Club's proposal to build a bowling green on the sealed area beside the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club. We encourage everyone who uses the area for tennis, basketball, skateboarding, biking, etc, to submit at hutt.city/ebcrelocation.     Huge community day with prizes, shared kai, and good vibes! Clean-ups will be happening right across Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai Lower Hutt from 10am until 12 noon. From midday on, we welcome everyone to join us at Petone Beach to celebrate your amazing mahi! Feel free to continue the clean-up efforts and enjoy the good vibes with beach games, music, ice creams, and kai. There are currently five clean-up sites to choose from, with something for everyone.
