(Note, no collection in December) Simple and affordable rubbish disposal is available monthly at our skip. We are trialling a new e-waste collection system over spring and summer. Owing to weather forecast the beach cleanup has been cancelled. Our next Burdan’s Gate to Pencarrow beach clean will be two weeks from today on Sunday, November 27th, from 9:00-12:00. Rain or shine, all welcome for any length of time, bags and gloves provided. Contact Sarah Pettus for details

Women’s Regatta and Open Day

Muritai Yacht Club - Female sailors from across Wellington will be competing in a 4 race series with an emphasis on fun. The club is also running an open day, encouraging people to come along and watch as well as seeing what the club does. People are invited to come to afternoon tea about 4pm and enjoy a glass of something from about 5pm. Come and enjoy the beach, the harbour, sailing and the social ambience of our community.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand assessment of Days Bay beach.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand are in the process of conducting an assessment of Days Bay beach. The assessment looks at what can be done to make Days Bay safer for beach goers particularly in the summer months. As part of the process of this assessment they want to meet with locals who are willing to contribute their ideas, views on local risks, or ideas of how improvements to safety could be made. If you are interested in attending the meeting is going to be held at Wellesley College, Monday 12th December 7pm
