Ever since the bones of King Richard III were exhumed from a Leicester City Council car park in 2012, interest in the much-maligned king continues to grow. But as far as Shakespeare was concerned, the embittered and physically deformed crown usurper was an unadulterated villain. Director of Butterfly Creek Theatre Troupe’s production in early March, Mike Butcher, believes Richard III is the best play Shakespeare ever wrote. He also believes he’s assembled the best cast to tell the story, with Colton Stuart in the main role, Allan Burne as Richard’s right-hand man Lord Buckingham, and Lian Butcher as Lady Anne Warwick, manipulated into marrying Richard

Mistaken identities, evil adversaries, plot twists, and absurd excesses are in store for Butterfly Creek Theatre Troupe’s final production of the year, The Foreigner by Larry Shue.  Rehearsals are now underway. Winner of two Obie Awards, two Outer Critic Circle Awards and named the Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production of 1984, this modern farce remains a staple of regional and community theatre. Director Suzy Cain, (along with Assistant Director Nicola Tod) has assembled a fantastic cast and Cain is looking forward to working on the play again.  She did the role of Catherine about 30 years ago at the Riverside Theatre, Vero Beach, Florida

The Eastbourne Lions Christmas Market is a non-profit, community-run venture, organised by volunteers. Any surplus goes back into the organisation and promotion of further markets and donations to community projects as selected by the Market Committee. The next Eastbourne Market is being held at Muritai School, Eastbourne, Sunday December 17th.  This is a great opportunity to sell your quality crafts, art, jewellery, food and other beautiful products in time for Christmas. ​This is a community market where we encourage Eastbourne residents, or those with a connection to Eastbourne, to apply for a stall.  We will however also consider applications from people outside of Eastbourne if what
