Come along and find out more about the Days Bay Community Emergency Hub and the types of help that may be needed after an emergency. Have fun meeting together and practicing various roles with an interactive earthquake scenario. Open to all ages and abilities, no experience needed! Refreshments provided. National Emergency Mobile Alert test - save the date The nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert (EMA) system is taking place in the evening of Sunday 25 May between 6-7pm. This is a routine test to make sure the system is working well, and we anticipate that over 5.5 million phones will receive this message. Anybody who may be distressed by the alert, or those have a hidden second phone for their safety, should put their phones in flight mode or turn them off between the hours of 6-7pm on Sunday 25 May to avoid the sound of the alert. ShakeOut 2025 is happening on 16 October, 2025 at 9:30 am, and we’re looking for any positive stories and photos you have to share from any of your previous ShakeOuts. You may have run your ShakeOut a little differently to others, or you may have discovered something eye-opening during a previous drill or hīkoi that you still use today.
