  • Tupua Horo Nuku – Resilience and Shared Path Celebration postponed until Sunday

    The weather is gate crashing our celebration! The weather isn't looking too flash for Saturday - so the decision is to postpone the public informal part of the day until Sunday 19 April (next day). Same places, same time (10am-2pm), same fun - just hopefully better weather. The official proceedings (blessing and opening) will still go ahead from 6am at Whiorau Reserve on Saturday 18th April. Sunday - Get your bikes tuned up, lace up your walking shoes, and prepare to explore the completed 4.4km path with us! We have fun things planned for your whānau around the Eastern Bays.     Burdan's Gate

    It’s that time of year again, so mark your calendar! Our next Eastbourne beach clean-up is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th. We’ll be set up at the usual place - the picnic table just before Burdan’s Gate - from 9:00 until noon. All welcome, for any length of time. Even half an hour makes a big difference. Bags and gloves provided.

    ANZAC Day

    Anzac Day is usually commemorated by the Eastbourne Community at the war memorial adjacent to Muritai School, followed by refreshments at the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club. Assembly at Ballinger Gardens, Makaro Street from 9.30am – March to the Memorial Gates, Muritai School. ANZAC Service commences at 10am. Anzac Day is observed on 25 April. It commemorates New Zealanders killed in war and honours returned and serving servicemen and women.     Everyone is welcome to the Community Board Meeting to be held in the Eastbourne Community Hub/Library on Tuesday 16 June 2026 commencing at 7:15 pm. A public forum is available 30 minutes before the meeting (6:45pm to 7:15pm) - this is not public comment (see below), but an opportunity for informal discussion. The public cannot ask questions during the actual meeting, other than during public comment. Agenda, speakers and Chairs report will be available here closer to the date
