Baring Head Community Planting Day

Grab your friends and whānau and join us at Baring Head/Ōrua-pouanui for a morning of planting in this rugged corner of the Wellington Region. We will be planting ngaio, tī kouka, harekeke and other native species in the valley alongside the Wainuiomata River. In a few years’ time it’s going to look very different so if you’d like to be part of the team restoring this location, we’d love your help. This planting day is suitable for people with medium fitness as you will need to carry plants and dig holes, but the area being planted is a flat walk away from the carpark and
