Locally we have 9 candidates for the Eastbourne Community Board (5 positions)- congraulations to all who have put their names forward, it’s great to see democracy in action. Nominations for the local body elections close at noon on Friday 12th August. The Eastbourne Community Board has 5 members plus our ward (Eastbourne & Petone) city councillor. We meet about 6 times a year formally (public meeting) but informally much more often, plus board members work on their areas of interest as need arises.
