    Drop in session, Eastbourne Library/Hub 29 August 10-11 am Future of bus services in the Hutt Valley – Have your say! Survey open 17 Aug 2026 – 06 Sep 2026 Metlink are reviewing bus services across the Hutt Valley to make sure the network continues to work well for you now and in the future. As part of this, they’re looking at how to balance accessibility and affordability while providing a network that meets the community’s needs. Some services may change, some may reduce, and some new connections are being considered. Before any decisions are made, we want to hear what matters most to you.

  • Emergency Water Filtration and Supply training

    Community Water Stations - training We have 2 of these stations, at Lowry Bay and Days Bay. These contain pumps, water filtration equipment and water storage bladders to allow us to use local water (or tanker) sources for community supply in an emergency. We need some locals to train in their use, so if you are interested please contact me. The Days Bay Water Station is a shipping container tucked into the corner of Williams Park south of Kereru Road adjacent to the petanque / volleyball area.   • Historical Society of Eastbourne – Picture Perfect

    Many of you will remember our successful art exhibition, ‘Picture Perfect’, at the Hutt Art Centre in May last year. We always intended repeating it here in Eastbourne at some stage, and can now confirm that it will take place over the weekend of 14-15 November in the Muritai School Hall, as part of the Wellington Heritage Festival. We’re delighted to have another opportunity to showcase our ‘century of paintings of the eastern bays’ and to tell the stories associated with them. In addition, we hope to display some of our large framed early photographs of the bays, which are historic items in their own

  • Eastbourne Beach Cleanup

    Burdan's Gate

    Our spring BURDAN'S GATE BEACH CLEAN UP is scheduled for Sunday, November 15th, 9:00-12:00. Everyone of all ages is welcome and encouraged to come along for any length of time - every little bit makes a difference. Bags and gloves provided. We'll be set up at the usual spot just before Burdan's Gate, at the start of the Pencarrow Road. I’m pleased to say that since our April clean-up, Hutt City Council has installed bollards along the grassy picnic area where we congregate. This is intended to discourage drivers from parking on the grass and driving onto the beach. Hopefully Council will be installing similar bollards
