The Society's next event for members is another author talking about another aspect of our history, and promises to be just as interesting and challenging. On Sunday 13 October at 2 pm at the East Harbour Women's Club Rooms in Muritai Road, local resident and bibliophile Rudi Mack will introduce us to his new book "First Contacts - the early Pacific and European accounts of Abel Tasman's 1642 Voyage". Rudi takes a new approach, offering a different perspective than previous histories about the voyage. By cross-referencing textual and visual sources with each other, new interpretations of certain events during the voyage emerge. The results are

Rehearsals are now underway. Winner of two Obie Awards, two Outer Critic Circle Awards and named the Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production of 1984, this modern farce remains a staple of regional and community theatre.
