An Eastbourne resident recently reported a near-miss when a sizeable branch fell of a Norfolk Island Pine near St. Ronan’s Church on Muritai Road. narrowly missing the resident and her child. Big thanks to the Eastbourne Lions, EarthLink, saveBOARD, and the community. Our community Tetra Pak recycling has been an epic success, so good in fact that we’ve suggested that HCC roll out a similar scheme across the city. We’ve been asked if it was some sort of commercial business by EarthLink who accept all our TetraPaks and send them to saveBOARD in Hamilton where they are quickly and simply turned into wallboard. The Tupua Horo Nuku resilience project (seawall and shared path) is proving very popular, but is also bringing focus to the areas where there are still issues.
