The ECB welcomes the Council’s consultation on the Eastbourne Bowling Club’s proposal to build a bowling green on the sealed area beside the Eastbourne Sports and Services Club. We encourage everyone who uses the area for tennis, basketball, skateboarding, biking, etc, to submit at hutt.city/ebcrelocation. If a bowling green is built there, the area available will be reduced. Nominations for Eastbourne Community Board have closed: Jeremy Chaston, Murray Gibbons, Ben Hainsworth, Emily Keddell and Bruce Spedding are only 5 nominations for the 5 vacancies, so these members are elected unopposed (no voting required). On June 10th the theme of the Eastbourne Community Board meeting will be the Gollan’s farm purchase. Quentin Duthie (GWRC) is speaking about why the council bought the land, Dave Bamford will be speaking on why the trust for the estate of John Marsden Nankervis gave so generously to help the purchase, and Ben Bruno  (Harbour to Headlands) will be speaking on the support from the community and the ideas that have been put forward. Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) will install poison bait stations in the Parangarahu lakes area. We will start the installation soon and work will be completed by June 30.This will supplement the trapping work already in place & being managed by MIRO volunteers.The bait stations will be located off the main walking tracks. Wellington’s regional council has placed the winning bid on more than 1000 hectares of land, featuring unique wetlands and bordering on existing regional park in Eastbourne.
